Acting Workshop with Eric Lutes

Description:

Acting Workshop with Eric Lutes

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED TO DECEMBER 14TH. DUE TO THE WILDFIRES IN CA, THE CURRENT MOVIE PROJECT THAT ERIC IS WORKING ON HAS HAD TO ADJUST ITS SHOOTING SCHEDULE. AS A RESULT, WE HAVE MOVED THE DATE TO 12/14 TO ACCOMODATE THIS CHANGE.

Cost is $75 for three hour class that runs from 2pm-5pm

This class is an on-camera acting class. I use my over 30 years-experience in front of the camera to create a realistic sense of what it is like to work on TV and film. Scenes used from current TV shows and films I have worked on. Especially with stage actors, the work focuses on being- not acting. This type of acting in front of the camera is every bit as real as stage work but more internal and subtle. This can be tricky- to trust that you are enough and don't have to push anything.

Eric’s bio:

I started acting the summer before college and was immediately hooked. I went on to earn a BFA in theatre from the University of Rhode Island. Moved to NYC and worked in commercials and soaps. I went to LA in '95, reluctantly. I was making a living in NYC doing plays and bit parts on soaps as well as commercials, many of which shot in Europe.

When I went to LA, I hit right away and landed the part of Tom Duran on Frasier. Playing a gay role in the mid 90's was considered daring, I considered it a really good role and it was. The Matchmaker episode won Gladd as well as Writers Guild awards. It put me on the map. Following that, was a slew of guest stars on all the popular shows of the day. My first series regular gig was playing Del Cassidy on NBC's Caroline in the City. My next series was So Little Time with the Olsen twins. I first worked with them on the film Switching Goals so I am the only actor to play two different dads to the twins. Many made-for-TV movies and feature films later, I am based back on the east coast where I most recently played Buddy Barrington in the film Vault, shot in Providence. I continue to work and teach and have a thriving Marine Art career that keeps me busy.
